Fasting on behalf of the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 12414 )
Q2: My father passed away, and he had fasting days remaining from the month of Ramadan. After my mother finished her period of mourning, she fasted on his behalf. Is this permissible or not? And can any of his relatives fast on his behalf? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A2: Your mother did well in fasting on behalf of her husband—may Allah multiply her reward—and her fasting suffices for your father (may Allah have mercy on him). May Allah improve your heart and bless you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
