No major ritual impurity and no full ritual bath for the midwife
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of fatwa number ( 4481 )
Q3: Does the midwife have to perform the full ritual bath, or is the ablution sufficient for her?
A3: All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. And after: It is not obligatory for her to perform the full ritual bath or the ablution on account of her assisting the pregnant woman with the procedures of childbirth. Rather, it is obligatory for her to wash any ritual impurity, such as blood or the like, that touches her body or her clothes if she intends to pray. However, her ablution is invalidated by touching the private parts of the pregnant woman if she touches them during delivery. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
