The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6284 )
Q2: There is disagreement among some Muslims regarding following the adhan. So, when the call reaches "Hayya 'ala al-salah" (Come to prayer), should the servant say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor strength except with Allah), or should he say "Hayya 'ala al-salah, Hayya 'ala al-falah" (Come to prayer, come to success)?
A2: The correct view is to say: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor strength except with Allah) after each "Hayya" (Come), and not to repeat the mu'adhdhin's words: "Hayya 'ala al-salah, Hayya 'ala al-falah" (Come to prayer, come to success); due to the apparent meaning of the hadith of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Mishkat al-Masabih 658 . Its apparent meaning is that one should not repeat the two "Hayya" phrases, but rather say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor strength except with Allah) at their place. This specifies the hadith of Abu Sa'id and what came in its meaning regarding the command to say what the mu'adhdhin says. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

When the mu’adhdhin says, “God is most great, God is most great,” and one of you makes the response, “God is most great, God is most great”; then says, “I testify that there is no god but God,” and he makes the response, “I testify that there is no god but God”; then says, “I testify that Muhammad is God’s Messenger,” and he makes the response, “I testify that Muhammad is God’s Messenger”; then says, “Come to prayer,” and he makes the response, “There is no might and no power except in God”; then says, “Come to salvation,” and he makes the response, “There is no might and no power except in God”; then says, “God is most great, God is most great,” and he makes the response, “God is most great, God is most great”; then says, “There is no god but God,” and he makes the response, “There is no god but God”; if he says this from his heart, he will enter paradise
