The Virtue of Prayer in Makkah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6267 )
Q4: Is the reward for prayer in Makkah as a whole multiplied, like the prayer in al-Masjid al-Haram itself? And is the punishment for sins multiplied in Makkah just as the reward for good deeds is multiplied?
A4: A- There is scholarly disagreement on this issue, and the stronger position is that the multiplication of reward extends to the entire Haram; because it is all referred to as al-Masjid al-Haram in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. B: As for sins, they are not multiplied in number, neither in the Haram nor elsewhere; rather, they are multiplied in terms of quality, due to the difference in the severity of the sin and the magnitude of the crime caused by the time and place, such as in Ramadan and the Noble Haram, and al-Madinah al-Munawwarah , and the like; based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereofمَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلا يُجْزَى إِلا مِثْلَهَا
[Al-An'am 6:160]
and the authentic hadiths reported on this matter.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
