Q9: What is the ruling on preferring some reciters over others in the recitation of the Qur'an and recording the Qur'an on tapes and selling them for money?
Vol. 9: It is permissible to prefer some Quran reciters over others on the basis of the rules of recitation and the beauty of the tartil (measured recitation), and it is permissible to record the recitation of the Quran on tapes and sell these tapes. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
