It is not permissible to wish for death
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 6354 ):
Q3: I am a young man suffering from a very difficult psychological state, and up until now I have constantly wished for death so that the person might find relief. Is that permissible, and what should I do? My religion and my Islam are weak, and my family blames me, and everyone blames me.
A3: It is not permissible for you to wish for death, due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
None of you should make a request for death because of the trouble in which he is involved, but if there is no other help to it, then say: O Allah, keep me alive as long as there is goodness in life for me and bring death to me when there is goodness in death for me.
لا يتمنين أحدكم الموت لضر نزل به فإن كان لا محالة فليقل: اللهم أحيني ما كانت الحياة خيرًا لي وتوفني إذا كانت الوفاة خيرًا لي
