Slaughter in the name of Allah the Exalted to feed a guest or a relative

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 9228 ):
Q8: Slaughtering for other than Allah is forbidden and shirk (associating partners with Allah). What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding slaughtering for guests or a relative? I hope you will provide information.
A8: Slaughter to draw near to the one for whom it is slaughtered, in order to bring benefit or ward off harm, is shirk (associating partners with Allah). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allah.
As for slaughter in the name of Allah the Exalted to feed a guest or a relative, there is no blame on one who does so. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
