The Shaykh : She said: Mishkat al-Masabih 1512 .
This means that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was affected by the phenomena of nature, but when he was affected by these phenomena, he was in fact watching Allah behind them. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) was always living and existing in the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in every state and on every occasion. Among this, when the Messenger (peace be upon him) saw a cloud or a strong wind in the sky, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would be agitated, and his affectation from what he saw of the cloud and wind would appear on his face (peace and blessings be upon him). And in another narration it came: This is an addition in some of the hadiths, and it will come in another place, if Allah wills, in the book: "When it rained." That is, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) had two states: when the clouds spread in the sky or the winds played, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) would be agitated and that would appear on his face. And when the rains came down, it was relieved from him, meaning the distress and fear that filled his chest (peace and blessings be upon him) was removed. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was observing this on the face of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), so she said: "O Messenger of Allah, when people see a cloud they rejoice, hoping that it contains rain, and I see that when you see it, I know aversion on your face"; meaning, Lady Aisha was saying to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): You are not like people. People usually, when they see a cloud, look forward to good and rain, whereas you show aversion on your face. So what is the secret and what is the reason for this difference between you and people? People look forward to good and rejoice when they see a cloud, and you show fear and aversion on your face. So he said: يا عائشة ما يؤمني أن يكون فيه عذاب ؟ O Aisha, what makes me safe from the fact that it contains punishment? A people were punished by the wind. A people saw the punishment and said: This is a cloud that will rain on us The Messenger (peace be upon him) is pointing to the verse: [Al-Ahqaf 46:24] This means that in reality, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is, as he rightly said in another hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 5063 So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is undoubtedly the most fearful of people in Allah and the most afraid of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). And evidence of that is this hadith, where Lady Aisha says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to have as his habit that when he saw a cloud or the winds played, aversion would be seen on his face and known on his face. So when she asked him and said to him: "People look forward to good, so why do we see aversion on your face?" He said (peace and blessings be upon him): And these people who were punished by the wind are like the general people who, when they see a cloud and wind playing, look forward to good. And so that people were struck; they said: And if it is a barren wind that uproots their houses, their dwellings, and their property, it made them like the past that has gone by. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), out of his fear of his Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He), used to fear that this wind might be a stormy wind, not a rain-bearing wind that brings good news. And for that reason, fear would take hold of him (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). And for that reason, the other addition came: "When the sky rained, the fear was removed from the Messenger of Allah," and it was confirmed that it was indeed good. Therefore, Lady Aisha said in the other narration: "When the sky rained, it was relieved from him"; meaning: the aversion that appeared at first, before the sky rained, went from his face, because he used to fear (peace and blessings be upon him) that it might be a stormy wind. And for that reason, it was also among his guidance (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he saw a wind, he would say: Sahih Muslim 2723c Meaning: the wind may bring good and it may bring evil. And for that reason, it is not permissible for a Muslim to be deceived; the Muslim should not be deceived by good he sees, for it may turn into evil. So no one is safe from the scheme of Allah except the disbelieving people. So when a Muslim sees a wind in the sky, he must imagine the psychology of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he used to see a wind. The Muslim should fear, out of fear that it might be a stormy wind carrying punishment for a people who defied the Lord of the worlds. So when this wind passes by safely and rains follow it, he looks forward to good. So when the Muslim does not know whether this wind is good or evil, he must ask the Lord of the worlds to ask Him for its good, and seek refuge in Him from its evil.
and when he saw clouds or wind his face showed signs [of fear].
And in another narration it came:
When the sky rained, it was relieved from him
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!"
I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you
Indeed, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) had punished a people with the wind
This is a cloud that will rain on us
I beg of Thee the blessing of this night and the blessing of that which lies in it. I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of it and what lies in it.
