Continuation of the explanation of the hadith of Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: When it was a day of wind and clouds, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would show that in his face

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when it was a day of wind and clouds, would fear and be afraid that it might be a punishment. That was evident in his face, and he would go back and forth, like a fearful, anxious person. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked him: Why did you do that? He informed her that he feared it might be a punishment. He also explained this in another hadith, saying:
for a people was afflicted with wind قد عُذِّب قوم بالرّيح
Sahih Muslim 899c
meaning by that the people of 'Ad. Therefore, a person should fear when he sees clouds, especially clouds that are out of the ordinary, either by their darkness, blackness, and heaviness, or by the crashing of their thunder. Likewise, with winds, one should fear, because it may be anger. But if a person’s heart is dead, when he sees a piece of the sky falling, he says: It is a piled-up cloud; this is nothing. It is mentioned that when al-Hajjaj was besieging Makkah, may Allah increase it in honor, Allah the Exalted sent down clouds and great thunderclaps upon them. The soldiers feared and were about to retreat, but he said: Let not the thunder of the Hijaz deceive you. This is exactly like the saying: And if they see a piece of the sky falling, they say: It is a piled-up cloud.
When the rain descends, this is mercy, because the descent of rain is from the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be relieved and pleased, and the fear would leave him.
