He says that I have an uncle who passed away about two years ago or more, and my uncle has an older brother. He asked me to perform Hajj on behalf of both of them, and I did. When I went for Hajj, on the day of stoning the pillars, I got separated from the brothers who were with me and I was tired from searching for them, so I did not slaughter on the first day, but I slaughtered on the second day. I had shaved my head on the first day. Is this permissible for me or not?

The questioner : He says that I have an uncle who passed away about two years ago or more, and my uncle has an older brother. He says, and I performed Hajj on behalf of both of them. I believe that he performed Hajj on behalf of one of them, and he will perform Hajj on behalf of the second, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah. This point you mentioned, which is his statement that he asked me to perform Hajj on behalf of both of them and I did, it is possible that he performed Hajj on behalf of one of them.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : As for performing Hajj on behalf of both of them in a single act of worship, that is not permissible, because a single act of worship cannot be divided; it must be for one person. So if someone wants to perform Hajj on behalf of his mother and his father, for example, in one year with a single act of worship, that is not permissible. Rather, he performs Hajj on behalf of his father in one year, or on behalf of his mother in one year, and on behalf of the other parent in the other year. As for what he did regarding delaying the slaughter to the second day and shaving on the first day, there is nothing wrong with it. That is because a person on the day of the festival should arrange the acts of worship performed on that day as follows: first, he begins by stoning the Jamrat al-Aqabah, and then he slaughters his sacrificial animal.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Then he shaves his head or shortens it, and shaving is better. Then he descends to Makkah and performs Tawaf al-Ifadah, which is the Tawaf of Hajj, and he performs Sa'y between al-Safa and al-Marwah if he was in the state of Tamattu', or Qiran, or Ifrad, and had not performed Sa'y after Tawaf al-Qudum. If he was in the state of Qiran or Ifrad and had already performed Sa'y after Tawaf al-Qudum, then he does not repeat the Sa'y a second time.

The questioner : Yes.
Also, this is a message from the questioner Muhammad Hasan al-Qarni, who says.
