Is extracting the jinn from a human one of the means of da'wah? And is it permissible to seek the assistance of the jinn in ruqyah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We have a phenomenon here, the phenomenon of extracting the jinn from a human, and I mean, they say?

The Shaykh : It has reached us about him, yes.

The questioner : And the brothers who extract the jinn from humans say that this is a type of da'wah work, and it is a phenomenon that has spread widely among us in Yemen. So what is your comment on this?

The Shaykh : This is also here and everywhere, and I believe this is a new affliction that Muslims in the lands of Islam have been afflicted with in this time. The original ruling in this matter is...
The students: May Allah have mercy on you.

The Shaykh : May Allah have mercy on you. Allah the Exalted said regarding the jinn:
And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. و أنه كان رجال من الإنس يعوذون برجال من الجن فزادوهم رهقا
[Al-Jinn 72:6]
So, connecting with the jinn in the manner you mentioned is not permissible in the Shari'ah, because this is from fortune-telling. All that is permissible is what is established from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) of reciting some verses of the Qur'an over the one afflicted with possession by the jinn. As for addressing the jinn, questioning them, and seeking their help—allegedly—to discover sorcery, where it is located, and who performed the sorcery, and so on, this is from the fortune-telling that is not permissible to practice, and about which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said in many authentic hadiths:
or who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad. من أتى كاهنا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
Sunan Ibn Majah 639Hasan (Darussalam)
So, when the human companion asks the jinn about something and it answers him, and he believes it, he is included in this warning. Likewise, the one who goes to him and seeks his help is included in this warning. It is not permissible to practice this profession at all, except within these very, very narrow limits, which is reciting some verses over the possessed person, so that perhaps the jinn possessing him will come out of him. As for the details of "sin jim" and so on, this is not permissible in Islam. And let this be your last question, so we can make room, if Allah wills, for some of our other guests!

The questioner : They claim that they recite the Noble Qur'an, only the Qur'an, and some supplications over the possessed, and then they have this dialogue and debate with the jinn?

The Shaykh : My brother, I have answered you, may Allah bless you. I said it is not permissible except reciting some verses to extract this jinn possessing the human. As for questioning it, interrogating it, and extracting speech from it, until the matter reaches the point of asking, "Are you a Muslim or are you a disbeliever?" and other known details, this is not permissible in Islam. Yes?

The questioner : O Shaykh, when will you accept...?

The Shaykh : Excuse me, I also ask you to note what I mentioned at the beginning of the session, and I do not know if you were present at the beginning or not. Many of our brothers have questions, and these are among them, and therefore we limited ourselves to the necessary. So I say, I hope you will choose the most important of the questions you have, and then if the opportunity arises, you may ask about what is beyond that.

The questioner: All right.

The Shaykh: Is it clear?

The questioner : If Allah wills.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.
