What is the ruling on saying the name of Allah for ablution in the bathroom when there is a toilet in it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Eid Abbasi : Is it permissible to mention Allah, such as saying the name of Allah, after performing ablution in the bathroom when there is a toilet in it for relieving oneself? And is it permissible ... when he is relieving himself on the toilet? And is it permissible to read newspapers or magazines in the same bathroom, whether they contain verses and hadiths or not? I ask for clarification on this.

The Shaykh : By Allah, one by one, so that we can recall the answer.

Eid Abbasi : The name of Allah for ablution in the bathroom when there is a toilet; what is its ruling?

The Shaykh : The name of Allah, meaning for relieving oneself?

Another questioner : ... .

Eid Abbasi : No, the name of Allah for ablution, he says.

The Shaykh : For ablution.

Eid Abbasi : He wants to perform ablution in the bathroom that has a toilet in it.

The Shaykh : All right.
The Shaykh: Mentioning Allah in the toilet is in the case of relieving oneself; this is what is prohibited.
-- And peace be upon you --
The Shaykh: So if we observe this, it enables us to take an answer for two of the previous questions, an answer for two questions. The one who wants to perform ablution, naturally, if the toilet is in the bathroom, then after he has relieved himself, he will move from the place, the seat he was sitting on to relieve himself, and move one or two steps to perform ablution. So now he mentions Allah for his ablution, not for relieving himself; because the dhikr that should be kept pure and honored from being mentioned during relieving oneself is so because the person is relieving himself. But after this need has ended, he has entered a new state and a new position, taking a new ruling different from the previous ruling. What brings this closer to you is what you know from the Sunnah; indeed, it is obligatory that when a Muslim comes to relieve himself, the Messenger (peace be upon him) ordered him, (peace be upon him) ordered him, to say:
I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the trials of life and death
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5505Sahih (Darussalam)
, and in other authentic hadiths he says:
In the name of Allah
.
The Shaykh: When does he say this? When he sits to relieve himself? No; for that reason, he said in the hadith:
If one of you wants to enter the place of relief
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 64:568
, and the hadith came with the wording:
When any one of you enters Al-Khala' (the toilet)
Sunan an-Nasa'i 25Sahih (Darussalam)
, so pay attention to this,
When any one of you enters Al-Khala' (the toilet)
Sunan an-Nasa'i 25Sahih (Darussalam)
. The apparent meaning of the wording indicates he entered and sat down, so at that time he seeks refuge with Allah; this is not the intended meaning. Rather, the hadith is on the pattern of His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He):
So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah
[An-Nahl 16:98]
. What is the meaning of
So when you recite the Qur'an
[An-Nahl 16:98]
? I said:
And not those who go astray.
. Amen, do I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan? Did I read al-Fatihah and finish it, and then say: I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan? No, but this is a known Arabic style among the Arabs.
And when you recite
means: if you want to read, then seek refuge with Allah. On this same pattern is his saying (peace be upon him):
If one of you enters the place of relief, let him say
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 64:567
; meaning: if one of you wants to enter the place of relief, let him say. So he mentions Allah, says the name, and seeks refuge before sitting to relieve himself ... .
