[The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: (For the Beggar and the Deprived)
What is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'arij: 25] ?
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'arij: 24-25] Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) praises these people who have established a known right in their wealth for the beggar and the deprived,The questioner: the one who asks and says, "Give me such and such." It was among the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he did not turn away a beggar, and this is the height of generosity, even if the person was wealthy and asked him. Indeed, among the noble qualities of character is that you give to him, but if you give to him, then advise him and say to him: "My brother! Do not ask people, for a man will not cease asking people until he comes on the Day of Resurrection with no piece of flesh on his face."And you say to him: A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Inform me of a deed that if I do it, Allah will love me and people will love me."So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: (Be modest in this world and Allah will love you, and be modest in what is with people and people will love you).
As for the deprived, he is the one who has been deprived of wealth, and he is the poor person. The intended meaning of "the deprived" is not the miser, as many of the common people understand it; because the miser has no right to be given, rather the intended meaning of "the deprived" is the one who has been deprived of wealth, which is the poor person.
