The Ruling on Praying over the Murderer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
O Shaykh! A man killed his wife and then killed himself. Is the funeral prayer performed for him?
Yes, the funeral prayer is performed for him; because killing oneself does not take one out of Islam, and the evidence that it does not take one out of Islam is the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anythingيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِصَاصُ فِي الْقَتْلَى الْحُرُّ بِالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدُ بِالْعَبْدِ وَالْأُنْثَى بِالْأُنْثَى فَمَنْ عُفِيَ لَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَيْءٌ
[al-Baqarah: 178] He made the murderer a brother of the murdered, and if it had taken him out of Islam, he would not have been his brother; but the matter is severe, in the sense that although he does not leave Islam, the punishment is severe,Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment.
[al-Nisa: 93] Five punishments: Hellfire.
And eternal abode therein.
And the anger of Allah upon him.
And His curse upon him.
And He prepared for him a great punishment.
So the matter is not light; but he does not leave Islam, so the funeral prayer is performed for him, and he is asked for forgiveness, and the grace of Allah is vast.
