Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Or do they intend a plot? Then it is the disbelievers who are the ones being plotted against)
Then he said: [Surat al-Tur: 42] Meaning: Do these people intend to plot against you, O Muhammad, by nullifying your call, destroying you, and killing you?
Yes, but their plot is nothing compared to the plot of Allah (Mighty and Majestic),Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Anfal: 30] And they plotted against Him the greatest plot, for they gathered to discuss what to do with Muhammad, when they saw that his call had spread and that they had no power to repel it,They gathered and consulted and mentioned three opinions: imprisonment, killing, and expulsion.
[Al-Anfal 8:30] Meaning: they will imprison you, [Al-Anfal: 30] Their decision settled on killing, but who could kill him? Because Banu Hashim would demand his blood,They said: ten young men from various Arab tribes would gather, and each of them would be given a sharp sword, and they would strike Muhammad with the blow of a single man, so that his blood would be dispersed among the tribes, making Banu Hashim unable to demand his blood. They did this, but they plotted and Allah plotted, and Allah is the best of plotters. Allah saved him from them, then He permitted him to migrate, so he migrated to Medina.
[Surat al-Tur: 42] The sentence here is a nominal sentence, both of whose ends are definite, separated by a separating pronoun, which indicates emphasis and restriction,Meaning: So the plot is for whom? For the disbelievers.
And here is a question that says: [Surat al-Tur: 42] It did not say: “Or do they intend a plot? Then they are the ones being plotted against.” What is this style called by the scholars of rhetoric? It is called explicitness in the place of implicitness,Its meaning is: instead of saying: “Then they are the ones being plotted against,”Allah the Exalted said: ((Then it is the disbelievers)) This has a benefit, or rather more than that,If he says: “The disbelievers” means: that these people are disbelievers,If he says: (“The disbelievers”) means: that whoever is a disbeliever, he is the one being plotted against, even if he is not among these people. So these are two semantic benefits.
The third benefit: It alerts the addressee; because if the speech is on a single pattern, a person might become accustomed to it and be inattentive, but if something comes that takes the speech out of the pattern, he pays attention.
Then he said:
Or do they intend a plan
Yes, but their plot is nothing compared to the plot of Allah (Mighty and Majestic),Allah the Exalted said:
But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you
وَإِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيُثْبِتُوكَor kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
And here is a question that says:
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
The third benefit: It alerts the addressee; because if the speech is on a single pattern, a person might become accustomed to it and be inattentive, but if something comes that takes the speech out of the pattern, he pays attention.
