Leaving the taking of hair, skin, or nails.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the characteristics of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah for one who intends to sacrifice is that he should not take anything from his hair, skin, or nails, even things that are required to be taken, such as shaving the pubic hair, plucking the armpit hair, trimming the mustache, and clipping the nails. All of these are recommended practices, but if the ten days have entered and you intend to sacrifice, do not take any of these. Why? Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) prohibited taking from them for one who intends to sacrifice. As for those for whom the sacrifice is performed on their behalf, there is no prohibition regarding them. Accordingly, if the head of the household is the one who intends to sacrifice, he should not take any of these. As for the other members of the household, there is no blame on them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
any one of you intending to sacrifice the animal وأراد أحدكم أن يضحي
Sahih Muslim 1977c
and he did not say that the sacrifice is performed on their behalf. Also, because he used to sacrifice on his own behalf and on behalf of his household, and he did not tell his household to refrain from taking from these things. However, if a person forgets and takes from them, does this affect his sacrifice? No, it does not affect it. Or if he intentionally takes from them, that does not affect his sacrifice either, but he may have committed the prohibited act. Now, if a person did not think about the sacrifice and took from his hair and nails after the entry of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and then he decided to sacrifice, should he sacrifice or not? The answer is yes, he should sacrifice, because there is no connection between the sacrifice and taking from these things. Perhaps we will limit our discussion to this regarding the month, and return to what we wish to discuss, which is the discussion of Hajj and 'Umrah.
