The questioner : The questioner says: I am a girl who reached puberty last year before Ramadan, and I did not inform either of my parents. When I fasted that year, my mother prevented me and said: Do not fast, for you are still young, your body is weak, and you are not able to fast. What is the ruling now? Should I make up this month or not?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory to make up the month for one who has reached puberty and did not fast, because when a woman experiences menstruation, she has reached puberty, whether it occurs after she has completed fifteen years of age or before that, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who menstruates (i.e., an adult woman) except with a head cover. لا يقبل الله صلاة حائض إلا بخمار
Sunan Ibn Majah 655Sahih (Darussalam)
However, I advise you to tell your mother to order her to repent to Allah and seek forgiveness, since she prevented you from something that was obligatory upon you. She should repent to Allah and seek forgiveness. As for you, seek help from Allah and make up this month, whether you make it up on consecutive days, which is better, or on separate days if consecutiveness is difficult for you. Yes.
Yes, this is if the month is not the upcoming month. As for the upcoming month, you have the option to delay fasting until the number of days remaining in Ramadan equals the number of days you owe. Yes.
Until the number of days remaining in Ramadan equals the number of days you owe. Yes.
