Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: O esteemed Shaykh, a colleague of mine wants to go to Jeddah with his family for the wedding of one of his relatives, and he intends to perform 'Umrah after the wedding. Is it permissible for him to pass the miqat and enter the state of ihram after the wedding from Jeddah, or what should he do? This is a question that is repeated.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for him to delay entering the state of ihram from the miqat as long as he is determined to perform 'Umrah, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the miqats:
The people of Madinah begin the talbiyah from Dhu al-Hulayfah, the people of Yemen from Yalamlam, the people of Najd from Qarn, and the people of Sham from al-Juhfah. يهل أهل المدينة من ذي الحليفة ، وأهل اليمن من يلملم ، وأهل نجد من قرن ، وأهل الشام من الجحفة
So he commanded to begin the talbiyah from these miqats. As for the one who travels for a need and says, "If it is facilitated for me, I will perform 'Umrah, otherwise I will not," then we tell him: If it is facilitated for you to perform 'Umrah, then enter the state of ihram from the place where it is facilitated for you, and if it is not facilitated, then nothing is required of you. However, if we asked this man and he said, "I came to Jeddah for a need, and I had already determined to perform 'Umrah, and I am now in Jeddah and my need has ended, so what should I do? Should I enter the state of ihram from Jeddah, or am I obligated to go to the miqat?" We said: He is obligated to go to the miqat and enter the state of ihram from there, and if he goes to the miqat and enters the state of ihram from there, the blood sacrifice is dropped from him. Yes.
