The questioner : It is said: His Eminence the Shaykh, there is no doubt that prayer is among the most important acts of worship, and that there is no prayer for one who has not performed ablution. I hope you will summarize the complete description of ablution so that it can be used by the general public and the specialists, and especially by those in the desert, for many of them do not know how to perform ablution correctly, and consequently their prayer is not valid according to the Shari'ah. They also do not know how to perform the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity. I urgently ask that you provide this information so it can be distributed to the people. May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : Ablution is a condition for the validity of prayer, so there is no prayer for one who has not performed ablution, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Allah does not accept any Salat (prayer) without purification لا يقبل الله صلاة بغير طهور
Sunan Ibn Majah 274Sahih (Darussalam)
and his saying:
Allaah, the Exalted, does not accept the prayer of any of you when you are defiled until you performed ablution. لا يقبل الله صلاة أحدكم إذا أحدث حتى يتوضأ
Sunan Abi Dawud 60Sahih (Al-Albani)
Therefore, ablution is necessary. Its description has two forms: a sufficient form and a complete form. The sufficient form is to limit oneself to what Allah the Exalted mentioned in the Qur'an:
wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
Allah the Exalted did not mention repeating the actions three times, meaning He did not specify doing them three times. He said: "Wash them and wipe your heads." So if a person performs ablution, washing his face once, then washing his hands from the fingertips to the elbows once, then wiping his head and ears once, then washing his feet to the ankles once, that is sufficient. However, it is better to repeat the actions three times and to wash his palms before washing his face. When a large amount of water is available, he should use it, then say the intention, then wash his palms three times, then rinse his mouth and sniff water and blow it out three times, then wash his face three times, then wash his hands from the fingertips to the elbows three times, then wipe his head and ears once, then wash his feet to the ankles three times. This is the most complete and perfect ablution.

The questioner : The full ritual bath for major ritual impurity, he says.

The Shaykh : The full ritual bath for major ritual impurity also has two forms: a sufficient form and a complete form. The sufficient form is to wash the entire body with water, including rinsing the mouth and sniffing water. The complete form is to perform ablution first, as one does for prayer, then pour water over the head three times, then wash the rest of the body, starting with the right side before the left. Yes.
