Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Indeed, every soul
Yes,
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
[At-Tariq 86:4]
Every soul has a guardian from Allah. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said:
For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah.
[Ar-Ra'd 13:11]
. And He, the Exalted, said:
And He is the subjugator over His servants, and He sends over you guardian-angels until, when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they do not fail [in their duties].
[Al-An'am 6:61]
. The scholars said: Look at the favor of Allah, look at the blessings of Allah; He preserves man whether he is alive or dead. When does He send guardians over you? In life and after death, the noble angelic messengers take his soul. And they do not neglect this soul which they take. Rather, they preserve it with the most complete preservation. So man is preserved whether he is alive or dead.
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
[At-Tariq 86:4]
. And among the guardians are the noble scribes, as in Surat al-Infitar:
(10) And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, (11) Noble and recording;
[Al-Infitar 82:10-11]
. These guardian scribes preserve everything that issues from man, whether it be speech or action. Allah, the Exalted, said:
When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left.
[Qaf 50:17]
, meaning that there is a scribe on the right and a scribe on the left:
Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
[Qaf 50:18]
. Whatever word you utter, there is a vigilant, present watcher over you. A vigilant watcher who is present. Al-Raqib is the watcher, and al-'Atid is the one who is present and constant. How many words have you spoken? Answer. How many words have you spoken? They cannot be counted. Man cannot count what he has spoken. Every word is written, every word. And when will we see what has been written? Allah, the Exalted, said, Allah, the Exalted, said:
(13) And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open. (14) [It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant."
[Al-Isra 17:13-14]
Man will see it on the Day of Resurrection, complete, whatever the word may have been.
