Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And indeed, over you are guardians)
Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Infitar 82:10-12] The emphasis by two markers: inna and the lam: [Al-Infitar 82:10] Man is under a Guardian who watches over him and records everything he does,Allah the Exalted said: [Qaf:18] So over every human being are guardians who record everything he says and everything he does. These guardians are noble, not base; rather, they possess such nobility that it precludes them from wronging anyone by recording what he did not do, or erasing what he did, because they are described as noble.
Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Infitar 82:12] Either by witnessing, if it is an action, or by hearing, if it is speech. Indeed, Allah reveals to them the deeds of the heart, and they record them,As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, it is recorded as a good deed, and whoever intends an evil deed but does not do it, it is recorded as a complete good deed) because he left it for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and the first is rewarded for merely intending the good deed.
Allah the Exalted said:
(10) And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, (11) Noble and recording; (12) They know whatever you do.
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ * كِرَاماً كَاتِبِينَ * يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَAnd indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَMan does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌAllah the Exalted said:
