Exegesis of His saying: “For a Great Day.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
For a Great Day لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
What is this day? It is the Day of Resurrection. It is explained by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(1) O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing. (2) On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy
[Al-Hajj 22:1-2]
due to the intensity of the terror. Here is a question arising regarding the last verse: Are there nursing mothers on the Day of Resurrection? Are there pregnant women? Such that the nursing mother is distracted from what she was nursing, and the pregnant woman delivers her load? The answer: Some scholars said that this earthquake occurs before the Hour, the earth shakes, people are terrified, the nursing mother is distracted from what she was nursing, and the pregnant woman delivers her load. According to this view, there is no difficulty in the verse. The second view is that this occurs on the Day of Resurrection, and this is the stronger position, because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described the Day of Resurrection, he said:
And that is a Day when the young child will turn white-haired, or he said: the children, and every nursing mother will be distracted from what she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will deliver her load وذلك يوم يشيب الوليد، أو قال : الولدان، وتذهل المرضعة عما أرضعت، وتضع كل ذات حمل حملها
So it is the Day of Resurrection. The question arises for us now: Are there nursing mothers and pregnant women on the Day of Resurrection? The answer: No. But the Arabic language uses this style for the sake of magnification and emphasis.
