Explanation of the words of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned verses in the context of the Chapter on Fear, some of which have been mentioned previously, including the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Allah warns you of Himself
[Ali 'Imran 3:28]
This means that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, warns us of Himself, that He will punish us for our disobedience and sins. And He said:
(1) O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing. (2) On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.
[Al-Hajj 22:1-2]
This also contains the fact that a person must fear this great Day, about which Allah said:
On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing
[Al-Hajj 22:2]
Meaning, because of the intensity of the terrors and horrors you will see.
and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated
[Al-Hajj 22:2]
Meaning, stunned, having no minds, but they are not intoxicated:
But they are not intoxicated, but rather the punishment of Allah is severe.
.
And Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
On the Day a man will flee from his brother
['Abasa 80:34]
and the discussion of this has been mentioned previously.
And He said:
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -
[Ar-Rahman 55:46]
to the end of the surah, meaning: whoever fears the standing before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, he will perform His obedience and fear His punishment, so for him are two Gardens. And in the midst of the verses He says:
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -
[Ar-Rahman 55:62]
So these are four Gardens for whoever fears the standing before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, but the people in them are on different levels. We ask Allah to make us and you among their people by His grace and generosity.
