What is the ruling on a man who forgot to recite the opening chapter of the Qur'an in one of the units of his prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: A Muslim did not recite the opening chapter in one of the units of his prayer?

The Shaykh : Is he praying alone?

The questioner: Yes, he is praying alone.

The Shaykh : When did he remember?

The questioner: I swear by Allah, I do not know. I mean, the question is that he forgot to recite the opening chapter in one of his units?

The Shaykh : May Allah guide you. We have lost two questions from you. The issue, may Allah bless you, differs from the first one entirely.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : If he remembers immediately after his closing salam, he must perform a unit and recite the opening chapter in it, and prostrate the prostration for forgetfulness. Then his prayer is completed and perfected.

The questioner: Excuse me, please repeat it for me.

The Shaykh : I say: If this forgetful person remembers the recitation of the opening chapter immediately after his closing salam from his prayer, he must return and perform the unit, recite the opening chapter in it, then prostrate the prostration for forgetfulness. By doing so, his prayer is completed. However, if he remembers after a period of time, he must repeat it from the beginning.

The questioner: You mean from the beginning of the prayer.

The Shaykh: Yes.
