If one forgets to recite al-Fatihah, what should he do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 19472 )
Q1: Can I pray a prayer without al-Fatihah if I forgot and remembered it after the taslim? Is this permissible, or is it obligatory for me to pray the prayer again?
A1 : If one forgets to recite al-Fatihah in one of the rak'ahs, whether he is the imam or praying alone, and he remembers while still in the prayer and before starting the next rak'ah, he should go back and recite it, then perform the ruku' and sujud that follow it. If he does not remember until after he has started the second rak'ah, the rak'ah in which he left out al-Fatihah is invalid, and the rak'ah that follows it takes its place. If he does not remember until after he has said the taslim from the prayer, he should stand up and perform a complete rak'ah, and prostrate for forgetfulness before the taslim in all these cases. If he does not remember until a long time after the taslim, he must repeat the entire prayer. As for the ma'mum, the imam bears it for him if he is ignorant or forgetful.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
