Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: A married woman has a mother, and this mother has no provider. Is it permissible for her to take from her husband's money without his permission, knowing that if this husband were to learn of it, he would become extremely angry, and the matter could even lead to divorce? At the same time, she is unable to leave her mother without a provider. What is the ruling in this matter? May you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them in excellence until the Day of Resurrection. It is not permissible for this wife to take from her husband's money to spend on her mother except with his permission and consent, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Your blood, your properties, and your honor are sacred to one another إن دماءكم وأموالكم وأعراضكم عليكم حرام
Sahih al-Bukhari 1739
He said this in Mina. He said:
as this day of yours in this month of yours. Have I not conveyed (the message)?’ They said: ‘Yes.” كحرمة يومكم هذا، في شهركم هذا، في بلدكم هذا، ألا هل قد بلغت؟ قالوا: نعم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3931Sahih (Darussalam)
However, she should consult her husband and seek his permission to spend on her mother from his money. If her husband spends on his wife's mother from his money, he is doing good to her and to his daughter, his wife, and he will be rewarded for that with sincere intention and seeking reward from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So I advise the husband, if his wife seeks his permission to spend on her poor mother who has no provider, that he should agree to that seeking the pleasure of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And let him know that this increases the blessing and growth in his wealth, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Charity does not diminish wealth ما نقصت صدقة من مال
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2029Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
