Is zakah obligatory on household furniture such as towels, given that the house contains thirty pillows, twenty blankets, and twenty bedspreads?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is zakah obligatory on household furniture such as towels, given that our house contains thirty pillows, twenty blankets, and twenty bedspreads? Is there any zakah due on these?

The Shaykh : There is no zakah due on a Muslim for the vessels in his house, his bedding, the car he rides in, the car he rents out, or any of his other necessities, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
There is no charity due on a believer for his slave or his horse. ليس على المؤمن في عبده ولا فرسه صدقة
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36:334
However, jewelry made of gold and silver is an exception to this, as zakah is due on it if it reaches the nisab, due to the generality of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying:
If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him, when the Day of Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years
Sahih Muslim 987a
His statement:
If any owner of gold or silver ما من صاحب ذهب ولا فضة
Sahih Muslim 987a
encompasses currency, jewelry, and other things.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
