The Shaykh’s speech on the many blessings of Allah and his citation of the hadith: “In the human body there are three hundred and sixty joints, and for every joint there is a charity every day.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We know, for example, that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has blessed humanity with blessings, such as being human in their very selves, in addition to the worldly comforts He has granted them. As humans, Allah has bestowed upon them many, many blessings. So much so that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said in an authentic hadith:
A human being has three hundred and sixty
Sunan Abi Dawud 5242Sahih (Al-Albani)
the joint of the limb
In the human being there are three hundred and sixty joints, and for every joint there is a charity every day
meaning that every person has three hundred and sixty charities to give every day. Why? To thank Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for not creating them as a piece of wood. If He had, they would not have been able to eat, drink, walk, or do anything. If a person’s hand were to dry up or be injured, they would have to be fed by a small child. Our Lord (Mighty and Majestic), when He created this human being and surrounded him with these blessings in his person, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said that thanks to Allah for every person is three hundred and sixty charities every day. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, who among us is able to give three hundred and sixty charities every day?” So he (peace and blessings be upon him) made the matter easy for them and clarified to them that the legislated charities are not limited to metal coins. Rather, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the completion of the hadith:
Enjoining what is right is a charity, forbidding what is wrong is a charity, reconciling between two people is a charity, carrying a load on the back of your brother’s mount is a charity, and in every tasbih is a charity, in every tahmid is a charity, and in every takbir is a charity
And at the end, he listed many characteristics of good, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And the two rak'ahs of the Duha prayer gather all of that for you
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 63:128
, which gathers all the charities. Here, this equals three hundred and sixty charities: that the Muslim prays to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) two rak'ahs in the mid-morning, which are the two rak'ahs of the Dhuha prayer, at the minimum number of rak'ahs. I want to say that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) told us here about something that people do not usually know. In fact, medicine, which has reached a high level of knowledge to this day, does not know this truth that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) told us about, which is that every human being has three hundred and sixty joints. Medicine to this day is ignorant of this truth. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about some of the blessings that Allah deposited in the human body. As for the apparent blessings, such as sight and hearing and the like, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) does not speak about them because they are apparent. But we know that these blessings can be used for good and can be used for evil. You look and smile in the face of your brother, and a charity is written for you. But you look at a forbidden woman and smile in her face, and a sin is written for you. And as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in an authentic hadith:
It is written for the son of Adam his share of fornication, and it will overtake him inevitably. The eye commits fornication, and its fornication is looking. The ear commits fornication, and its fornication is hearing. The hand commits fornication, and its fornication is touching
And in a narration with a weak chain:
Touching
meaning shaking hands. The word "batsh" here refers to the shaking of hands, which many young people today are afflicted with.
The hand commits fornication, and its fornication is touching. The leg commits fornication, and its fornication is walking. The mouth commits fornication, and its fornication is kissing
gathering of kisses. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said at the end of the hadith:
and the private parts testify all this or deny it.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6243
So these are blessings that Allah created in the human being, which can be used in obedience to Allah and can be used in disobedience to Allah. Do we say that since some people use these blessings in disobedience to Allah, we forbid them from them and eliminate them in them because they use them in obedience to Allah? The matter does not stop at this, which is an abomination. Rather, we say that we place barriers before the eyes of all people so that they do not use them in disobedience to Allah. Now, our Lord has granted us this and admonished us and reminded us that these blessings should not be used in disobedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He also mentioned in the Noble Qur'an:
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride.
[Ya-Sin 36:42]
He created for us means that our fathers and grandfathers before us did not know. And without doubt, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) favors us with such a noble promise:
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride.
[Ya-Sin 36:42]
If some people misuse what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) created, after it was not previously known, and some people misuse it, I say this is forbidden; it is not permissible for general women to use it, because some women misuse it. There is no difference in this between saying that it is not permissible for women to use or ride in a car because they or some of them use it in disobedience to Allah, and saying that it is not permissible to ride any known beast because some women use that in disobedience to Allah.
I do not think that this has any validity in terms of opinion. The correct view is to say that if a woman who observes the prescribed hijab rides in a car, she is equal to the man in riding the car, especially since he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Woman are counterpart of men.
Sunan Abi Dawud 236
Yes.
