How is dutifulness to parents to be observed if the child is upright and the parents are not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We want you to explain to us how this is to be. The questioner says: Undutifulness to parents, writing about the disability of the parents, and do the verses of Allah regarding the pleasure of the parents apply to these mothers and fathers in our time? Because the upbringing by the mother and father is in a great state of ignorance, so it is what compels the Muslim to be undutiful to his parents?
So the Muslim, if he is able to obey his parents, is it better for him to leave them or to remain in that state until death overtakes him and he does not enter Paradise, as mentioned in the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)?
What is the meaning of his saying: "until death overtakes him and he does not enter Paradise"?

The questioner : ... He is.

The Shaykh : ... Until death overtakes him and he does not enter Paradise, as mentioned in the hadith of the Messenger.

Another questioner :
Anyone who cuts off relationship from his nearest relatives will not enter Paradise.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1696Sahih (Al-Albani)
.

The questioner : ... If the hadith means...

The Shaykh : Yes?

Another questioner :
Anyone who cuts off relationship from his nearest relatives will not enter Paradise.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1696Sahih (Al-Albani)
.

Another questioner : ... He dies while being undutiful to his parents.

The Shaykh : Two understandings, my brother, two understandings. I am having difficulty with the part about not entering Paradise.
He does not enter Paradise.

The questioner : ... Because of his undutifulness to his parents...

The Shaykh : Who is the questioner? What do you mean by the hadith "does not come out"?
Yes?

The questioner : ... Because of his undutifulness to his parents.

The Shaykh : You are saying: If the Muslim is not able to obey his parents, is it better for him to leave them or to remain in that state until death overtakes him and he enters Paradise? Not "does not enter Paradise"; because you are saying that he remains in that state.
The important thing, after the text has been clarified, is that I do not find any difficulty in the life of pious, dutiful children with wicked fathers in light of Islam, as long as the child himself adheres to the rulings of Islam. So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says in the Noble Qur'an:
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them
[Al-'Ankabut 29:8]
, this is your duty in terms of your adherence to Islam with Allah, and your duty toward the parents is in the completion of the verse:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness
[Luqman 31:15]
; so the first part of the question, at the end of the question: Does he leave them?
The answer: He does not leave them; because Allah says explicitly:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness
[Luqman 31:15]
, and rather, it is upon you not to obey them in disobedience to your Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He). So if you stand firm on that, and then you continue to perform the rest of the duty upon you toward them, which is to advise them and remind them, then Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will be an example for you, and your father will not be the example of Azr, the father of Ibrahim, if Allah wills. So you perform the duty of advice, and after that, without doubt, one of two things will happen: either they will submit to your adherence to your religion despite your nose, and this is what we find in many households; the pious, dutiful children are patient with the opposition of the wicked fathers, as we said, so this patience makes the parents eventually submit to the reality of the situation, even though we also know that this is not a consistent rule, but this happens sometimes. If such a thing does not happen, the fate of the child will be expulsion from the house, and at that time, you have been relieved of the burden, and what comes to you? The relief, without you seeking it. They say to you: Either you return to our misguidance, or you leave our homes, as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said to his father:
O my father, do not worship Satan
[Maryam 19:44]
, at the end of the testament:
Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient.
[Maryam 19:44]
,
(45) O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]." (46) [His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time." (47) [Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.
[Maryam 19:45-47]
; meaning this is a separation between me and you.
So it is not permissible for the dutiful child to leave his father's house except if forced and compelled, and it is obligatory for him to stand firm in obedience and in accompanying them, as He (the Exalted) said in the Noble Qur'an in a good manner; at that time, the hadith:
An undutiful son
Mishkat al-Masabih 3653
does not apply to this explanation. So you must strive not to be undutiful by the name of your adherence to the religion. So whatever they command you of that which contains no disobedience, you must obey them, even if it is as we mentioned.
