What is the ruling on one who rejects a suitor on the grounds that he does not want his daughter to go to Afghanistan, given that the daughter is willing to marry him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We have presented many of them, but the one who rejects, for example, the reason for the rejection is that they do not want their daughter to go to Afghanistan, to jihad. Is it permissible for the father or the brother to reject for this reason, even though the daughter is willing and wants it?

The Shaykh : If the daughter is willing, it is not permissible. This is a deviation from the Shari'ah. It is not a matter of one or two cases; the prevailing tendency is deviation, and following the truth is very little, unfortunately.
