The questioner recalls that she is a girl studying at the university who complains about her mother's harshness toward her, saying that she does not know how to please her, as she fulfills her duties

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The truth is that this is a message written by a girl who used the initials K, M, D as a code for her name, from Riyadh. She wrote in her own style; the message is long, but I will read what is feasible. She recalls that she is a girl studying at the university who complains about her mother's harshness toward her, saying that she does not know how to please her, as she fulfills her duties toward her Lord in prayer, fasting, worship, and voluntary acts, but she has read that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) does not accept her deeds as long as one of her parents, or both, is not pleased with her?

The Shaykh : I say that if this questioning girl is maintaining her religion in the manner that pleases Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and if her mother is difficult with her and not pleased with her, then that does not harm her, as long as she is obedient to Allah and carrying out the command of Allah. However, she must be tactful with her mother. If the mother gets angry, let her smile in her face. If the mother speaks to her harshly and raises her voice, let the girl lower her voice. With this tact and asking Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to soften her mother's heart and to place mercy in it, good will come, if Allah wills. ... The second one.
