My husband gets angry over the slightest things and ignores me, and when I speak to him he does not answer me, so my chest tightens and I leave the room for a few hours and then return to him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner, Umm Abdullah, from the Arab Republic of Egypt and residing in Jeddah, says: O honorable Shaykh, my husband gets angry over the slightest things and ignores her, and when she speaks to him he does not answer her. She says: "So my chest tightens, and I leave the room for a few hours and then return to him out of fear of the anger of Allah upon me, but I do not know how to sleep, so I take advantage of that time for standing in night prayer and reading the Qur'an, and I have not neglected the obligatory acts, hoping that my husband will forgive me. Is there a sin upon me for leaving the room, and does the curse of the angels fall upon me?"

The Shaykh : Yes. It is obligatory for the wife to be patient with the harm of her husband, and it is obligatory for the husband not to transgress against her in her rights, and to fulfill her rights, and to treat her as he would like to be treated, because Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
And live with them in kindness وَعاشِروهُنَّ بِالمَعروفِ
So if he wrongs her by not providing the obligatory good treatment, she has the right to respond to him in kind, based on His saying (Exalted is He):
So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you فَمَنِ اعتَدى عَلَيكُم فَاعتَدوا عَلَيهِ بِمِثلِ مَا اعتَدى عَلَيكُم
[Al-Baqarah 2:194]
But I see that she should make peace with him, and be patient with his harm, and obey him in what he orders or calls for, and relief is near. Yes.
