What is the ruling on collective ruqyah, and what is the ruling on writing verses on paper and then burning them on the pretext of burning the jinn if they do not wish to leave?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. But in some matters, for example, these young men treat people with the Qur'an, but in some ways, for instance, one of them holds the patient's head and recites verses from the Qur'an, and the second holds his hands and recites verses from the Qur'an, and the third holds his legs, for example, and recites verses from the Qur'an. They all recite at the same time and aloud. And there are those who write on paper or on these paper napkins; they write the Qur'an and then burn this napkin with fire so that the steam comes out. I mean, they say—I don't know, one of the scholars, one of—I don't know, al-Damardash, and Allah knows best.

The Shaykh: What?

The questioner : Al-Damardash is an Egyptian name; al-Damardash wrote a book for treating possession by jinn.

The Shaykh : Yes, al-Damardash.

The questioner : Yes, al-Damardash. Approximately, this is what he says: that this method—meaning, they say that we have not read this in the book and we have not found it in the book—that this method burns the jinn present in the human being.

The Shaykh : And why does he burn it?

The questioner : Because it does not want to come out.

The Shaykh : But it comes out through the recitation of the Qur'an, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did. In any case, the picture you have just presented is from the innovations of the last days. Therefore, we return to what we mentioned at the beginning of the answer: there is no treatment for possession by jinn except the recitation of the Qur'an by one person. As for one taking a hand, and the second taking a hand, and the third taking a leg, and the fourth taking a leg, these are truly theatrical performances.
