Is there a difference between a good deed and a rank, and between an evil deed and a sin?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is there is a difference between a good deed and a rank, and between an evil deed and a sin?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. There is a difference between a good deed and a rank. The good deed is in the action, and the rank is in the reward, as Allah the Exalted said:
And for all are degrees from what they have done وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِمَّا عَمِلُوا
[Al-An'am 6:132]
So the ranks are in the reward. If a person does a good deed, he earns a rank for it. If he does another good deed, he earns a rank for that one, earning two ranks, and so on.
As for the evil deed and the sin, they are synonyms if each is mentioned separately; the evil deed and the sin mean the same thing. But if the evil deed and the sin are mentioned in the same place, there is a difference between them, and the sin is greater than the evil deed. Yes.
