Mentioning the difference between doing a good deed or a bad deed in Makkah and doing them elsewhere.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There is no difference in this between Makkah and other places, nor between Ramadan and other months, nor between the sacred months and other months. Whoever commits a bad deed is not punished with more than one bad deed. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged. من جاء بالحسنة فله عشر أمثالها ومن جاء بالسيئة فلا يجزى إلا مثلها وهم لا يظلمون
[Al-An'am 6:160]
in Surat al-An'am, which is a Meccan surah. Accordingly, a bad deed is not multiplied in Makkah, nor in the sacred months, nor in Ramadan. This is in terms of quantity; that is, the person who commits a bad deed is not punished with ten bad deeds, for example. However, it is multiplied in terms of quality. A bad deed in Makkah is a greater sin and has a harsher punishment than a bad deed elsewhere. We all know the difference between an easy punishment and a difficult punishment. We all know, for example, if a boy is struck and it is said, "This is a strike," but if he is struck harder and it is said, "This is more severe," then this is more severe. So a bad deed in Makkah is one bad deed, but it is more painful than other bad deeds. Good.
