The Shaykh : I say that among the benefits of this calamity is that it revealed who is sincere in their reliance upon Allah and who relies on the means rather than the One who brings about the results. Many people, because of this calamity, forgot their reliance upon Allah and began to depend on the means or on the apparent, tangible causes. This is, without a doubt, a deficiency in reliance upon Allah and a cause for being abandoned.
