Explaining the meaning of His saying, the Exalted: "And the prophets and the witnesses will be brought."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And the prophets and the witnesses will be brought وجيء بالنبيين والشهداء
Who brings them? Allah brings them, and the doer is omitted because it is known. The doer may be omitted for several reasons, one of which is that it is known. So His saying, the Exalted:
and mankind was created weak. وخلق الإنسان ضعيفاً
[An-Nisa 4:28]
Why is the doer omitted? Because it is known?
mankind was created weak. خلق الإنسان ضعيفاً
[An-Nisa 4:28]
Who is the Creator?

The questioner : Allah, Mighty and Majestic.

The Shaykh : Good, why is it omitted? Because it is known, for there is no Creator but Allah. Good, here Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
And the prophets will be brought وجيء بالنبيين
So the one who brings them is Allah, Mighty and Majestic. The prophets are brought and the witnesses are brought. As for the prophets, they are the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them). They are brought to testify against their nations that they conveyed the proof to them and that the proof was established against them, as Allah, the Exalted, said:
And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. وكذلك جعلناكم أمة وسطاً لتكونوا شهداء على الناس ويكون الرسول عليكم شهيداً
[Al-Baqarah 2:143]
So the prophets testify against the nations that they were conveyed to and that the proof was established against them. The witnesses are the scholars, for the scholars testify against the nations that the messengers conveyed to them, and they testify for the messengers that they conveyed the message. For this reason, we say that the people most knowledgeable about the condition of the messengers are the scholars, who are the heirs of the prophets.
