A teacher who was negligent in one of the years: should he take money from his salary and give it in charity, or what should he do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A teacher, O honorable Shaykh, was negligent in one of the years. He says: Should I take money from my salary and give it in charity, or what should I do? May you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : What I see is that it is obligatory for him to take from his salary an amount equal to the negligence that occurred on his part, and to place that in the school fund. If that is not possible, let him give it in charity. It is preferable that the charity be for the poor students, because this negligence concerned the rights of the students whom he neglected. Therefore, directing its compensation to students who benefit from it is more appropriate than directing it to outsiders of the school.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. Shaykh Muhammad.
