We were unable to leave Makkah after the farewell tawaf because the tawaf was at night and we had children with us, and we left Makkah the next day?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We were unable to leave Makkah after the farewell tawaf because the tawaf was at night and we had children with us, and we left Makkah the next day. What is the ruling?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for one who intends to travel from Makkah after his Hajj or 'Umrah to make the tawaf his last act, based on the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), who said:
The people were ordered to perform the Tawaf of the Ka`ba (Tawaf-al-Wada`) as the lastly thing أمر الناس أن يكون آخر عهدهم بالبيت الطواف
Sahih al-Bukhari 1755
.
However, if a man performed the farewell tawaf on the assumption that he was leaving, but then occupied himself with something related to the car, such as repairing it, or waiting for companions, or something similar, he is not required to repeat the tawaf.
Likewise, the scholars said that if he buys a need on his way, not for the purpose of trade, he is not required to repeat the tawaf.
But if a person decides, after performing the farewell tawaf, to stay in Makkah from night to day or from day to night, he must repeat the farewell tawaf so that his last act with the House is the tawaf.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
