Indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sought permission from Allah to seek forgiveness for his mother, but He did not grant him permission because she falls under the general meaning of the statement of Allah the Exalted:[At-Tawbah 9:113] He sought permission from his Lord to visit her grave as a lesson and a reminder, so He granted him permission. He visited it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wept with the natural weeping of a son for his mother, a natural weeping.
