Is it permissible to shake hands with an elderly woman given the absence of the cause of desire?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, if the woman is elderly, from the category of those who have passed childbearing age.

The Shaykh : Elderly?

The questioner : In age.

The Shaykh : Elderly?

The questioner : Elderly.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : In age, from the category of those who have passed childbearing age, is it permissible to shake her hand, knowing that the cause for the prohibition has ceased to exist for this elderly woman? Please advise us, may Allah forgive us.

The Shaykh : Yes. It is not permissible for a person to shake hands with an elderly woman or a young woman, unless she is one of his mahram (relatives one may not marry), even if she is an old woman. This is because it is said in the proverb: "For every falling thing, there is a catcher". So even if she is not desired now, Satan flows through the son of Adam like blood. Even if a person knows from himself that he is far from this matter, he should not do it, in order to block the means. And if he wants to greet her, there is nothing wrong with it, but shaking hands is not permissible. Yes.
