Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Until when death comes to one of them, he says: 'My Lord, send me back so that I may do good in that which I left behind.'"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:
until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back (100) That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." حتى إذا جاء أحدهم الموت قال رب ارجعون لعلي أعمل صالحاً فيما تركت
[Al-Mu'minun 23:99-100]
He did not say, "So that I may build palaces," or "So that I may ride in luxurious vehicles," or "So that I may enjoy women," or "So that I may enjoy sons." But he says:
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind لعلي أعمل صالحاً فيما تركت
[Al-Mu'minun 23:100]
And this is what the one to whom death comes hopes for or expects, and it is the case for every one of us, as it came in the hadith:
No one dies but that he regrets; if he was a wrongdoer, he regrets that he did not seek forgiveness, and if he was a doer of good, he regrets that he did not increase [in good]. ما من ميت يموت إلا ندم إن كان مسيئاً ندم أن لا يكون استغفر وإن كان محسناً ندم أن لا يكون ازداد
So I urge you, O brothers, to seize the opportunities, the opportunities of life, so that they are not wasted in vain.
