The Shaykh : [Al-Ahzab 33:47-48] .
[Al-Ahzab 33:1] And the difference between them is that the disbeliever openly declares his disbelief, while the hypocrite conceals his disbelief from the *nafaqah*, which is the burrow of the gerbil. Do you know what a gerbil is? Do you know it?
The gerbil is clever; it digs a burrow in the ground and makes an open door through which it enters and exits. It also makes a closed door at the far end of the burrow, sealed with a layer of earth. It digs until only a thin skin remains before it can escape. Why does it do this? So that if a person comes to catch it at the burrow’s entrance, and the other door is—what?—ready, with nothing but a thin skin left, it strikes it with its head and then escapes. This is the *nafaqah*.
The hypocrite is likewise.[Al-Baqarah 2:14] What? They said, [Al-Baqarah 2:14] And in reality, with whom are they? With the devils, with their devils.
Their saying “We believe”—they say “We believe,” but they are not believers. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:[Al-Ahzab 33:48]. Leave their harm alone, for Allah the Exalted will take charge of it. Be patient with it, and Allah the Exalted will take charge of them. This is a form of threat to the disbelievers and the hypocrites who harm the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). [Ali 'Imran 3:159] That is, rely on Him in bringing benefits and repelling harms. .
Reflect upon these verses more than in this brief manner, and also reflect upon the rest of the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. You will find much good in the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and you will find wonders that are endless and inexhaustible. For this reason, the jinn, who are less rational than humans, said:[Al-Jinn 72:1-2] This is their statement, and they are duller than humans and further from the truth than humans, and yet they acknowledged that the Qur'an is a wonder that guides to righteousness, and they believed in it.
We ask Allah the Exalted to grant us and you its recitation in its true manner, and to grant us understanding of it as jurisprudence and its application in practice. Indeed, He is Generous and Bountiful. And may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
(47) And give good tidings to the believers that they will have from Allah great bounty. (48) And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites but do not harm them

Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. (2) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it.
