The frequent swearing by many common people with this formula, saying: "By the life of my Lord." What is the validity of this oath?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. The questioner says: Many common people frequently swear with this formula, saying: "By the life of my Lord." What is the validity of this oath? May Allah reward you?

The Shaykh : The statement "By the life of my Lord" is an oath by an attribute of Allah. Swearing by an attribute of Allah is permissible. So if you say, "By the life of my Lord, I will certainly do such and such," or "By the power of Allah, I will certainly do such and such," or "By the sight of Allah, I will certainly do such and such," or the like, it is permissible and there is no blame in it, because swearing by the attribute is like swearing by the one who possesses it.
