(And that listening to the worldly and listening to the Hereafter do not coexist in the heart; rather, one is tested by the love of listening to the singers) And by Allah, he who makes it his constant habit never ceases*** forever

The Shaykh :"And by Allah, he who makes it his constant habit*** never ceases forever from associating partners with al-Rahman"
He swore, may Allah have mercy on him, that the one whose constant habit is singing does not cease from associating partners with al-Rahman. Why? He clarified, saying:
"So the heart is the house of the Lord, Exalted is His Majesty*** with love and sincerity along with excellence
So if it becomes attached to listening, it enslaves it*** to every so-and-so woman and man"
And for this reason, you find those who are captivated by the people of singing to have none in their hearts but those people—may Allah have mercy on you—none but those people by whom they are captivated. So their love competes with the love of whom? With the love of Allah. And they become partners with Allah in love—we ask Allah for safety—[Al-Baqarah 2:165], and this is the aspect of his saying: "And by Allah, he who makes it his constant habit*** never ceases forever from associating partners with al-Rahman"
He said: "Love of the Book" meaning the Qur'an "and love of the melodies of singing*** do not coexist in the heart of a servant" Are they opposites or contradictions? No, they are contradictions, because there may be a third love in him, neither the melodies of singing nor the Qur'an. For example, he loves wealth, and the love of wealth overpowers the love of Allah.
The important point is that they do not coexist, because love of the Qur'an necessitates for the person attachment to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, unlike love of the melodies.

And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah.
