The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "Do they wait except that Allah should come to them in clouds with the angels?" and Affirming the Coming of Allah and the Response to the Opponent in That

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Do they await but that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
Who is it that comes? O people, what are we deciding here? Do you not understand?
but that Allah should come to them
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
Who is it that comes? Allah the Mighty and Majestic, Allah.
but that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
Do you understand, O man? So I affirm the coming of Allah, I affirm the arrival of Allah, and you are in safety and you are on the right path, because He said:
that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
One comes and confuses the common person or the young student of knowledge, saying, "How can Allah come to them in clouds of darkness? It means that the clouds surround Allah, because there is a prepositional relationship, and the preposition surrounds the thing it modifies." So we say this is deception from Satan, deception from where? From Satan. And Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) has a book called *The Deception of Satan*. Now we say: state what Allah said about Himself and do not go beyond
that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
and do not go beyond. And "in" here may mean "with" or it may mean "upon." So if we want to address this man who is confusing, deceiving, and misleading, we say so; otherwise, we would say as the Qur'an said,
Do they await but that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds
[Al-Baqarah 2:210]
and remain silent about anything beyond that, and we know that Allah the Exalted is not surrounded by anything, because Allah is too Great to be surrounded by anything. O my brother, take the path of safety. You will die, you will face the Lord of the Worlds, the Mighty and Majestic. A Book has been revealed to you that is clearer than being a clarification of every thing. Do not go beyond the apparent meaning of the Qur'an regarding the attributes of Allah the Mighty and Majestic.
