What is the ruling on seeking intercession from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after his death?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, is it permissible to seek intercession from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he is now in his grave, by saying: "I want intercession from you, O Messenger of Allah, and I am a sinful servant whose fate is in your hands"?

The Shaykh : This is not permissible; it is forbidden. In fact, it may be associating partners with Allah, because this is supplication to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Instead of saying, "I ask you, O Messenger of Allah, to intercede for me," one should say, "O Lord, let Your Messenger intercede for me," so that the supplication is directed to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As for the Messenger, he is currently unable to intercede for you.
And even until the Day of Resurrection, he is unable to intercede for anyone except by the permission of Allah. So this phrase is forbidden and may be associating partners with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Yes, I mean your saying: "O Messenger of Allah, intercede for me." Yes.
