If the traveler for Hajj dies before entering the state of ihram, is he considered a pilgrim?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. If a person comes from his country seeking to perform Hajj, and then the plane crashes, is he considered a pilgrim?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : He came from his country, and the plane crashed or the ship sank; is he considered a pilgrim?

The Shaykh : Do you mean he died?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : He died before performing Hajj. If a person who traveled for Hajj dies before entering the state of ihram, he is not a pilgrim, but Allah the Mighty and Majestic will reward him for his effort. However, if he entered the state of ihram and then died, he is a pilgrim, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the man whose she-camel gored him while he was standing at 'Arafah. He said:
Wash him with water and Sidr and shroud him in two pieces of cloth, and neither perfume him, nor cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection saying, 'Labbaik,' (i.e. like a pilgrim). اغسلوه بماء وسدر وكفنوه في ثوبيه ولا تحنطوه ولا تخمروا رأسه فإنه يبعث يوم القيامة ملبيًا
Sahih al-Bukhari 1265
And he did not order them to make up his Hajj, and this indicates that he is considered a pilgrim. Yes.
