Is the *kaff* (fold) in the *shamagh*?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh: Is the *kaff* measured by the *kaff* of the *shamagh*?

The Shaykh : No, the *kaff* is not measured by the *shamagh*, because people wear the *shamagh* in multiple ways. Some wear it like this, draped, meaning hanging down from both sides. Some wear it like this, meaning they fold the ends from the back. And some wear it like this, draping the ends over the crown, over the head. So the way it is worn differs. For this reason, we find that the turban in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was worn with a *kaff*; was it not folded over the head? So people differ in how they wear the *shamagh*.
