If the children make a continuous charity for their deceased father, does the reward reach him even if he did not bequeath it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If the deceased man's children make a continuous charity for him, or knowledge that benefits people, does this benefit the deceased man even if he did not bequeath it because he was unable to do so?

The Shaykh : Yes, if the deceased man's relatives make a charity for the deceased man, it benefits him. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Sa'd ibn Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him)
He sought his permission to make his date grove in the city استأذنه أن يجعل مخرافه في المدينة
meaning his date palm that bears fruit
a charity for his mother, so he gave him permission صدقة لأمه فأذن له
and a man asked him, saying:
My mother died suddenly and I thought that if she had lived she would have given alms يا رسول الله إن أمي افتلتت نفسها وأظنها لو تكلمت لتصدقت
Sahih al-Bukhari 1388
she died suddenly, meaning she died unexpectedly
and I think if she had been able to speak, she would have given charity. Should I give charity on her behalf? He said: Yes وأظنها لو تكلمت لتصدقت أفأتصدق عنها ؟ قال : نعم
so there is no harm. As for beneficial knowledge, how can this be? This can be done by buying books, buying books, and making them a charity for his father, so it becomes beneficial knowledge. Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, no, this is a matter of consideration because this does not continue. Yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, I have two questions sent from Oman, meaning two questions together.

The Shaykh : No, one by one. No, there are people who want to ask. Go ahead, the more important of the two, the more important of the two.
